I agree with your post, but just a small correction. GGG is 35.

You're really comparing this to the context of Ward saying he would retire?
Ward claimed retirement after a controversial win over Kovalev, to whom he owed a rematch by contract. Instead of talking about rematch, he started talking about retirement.

Golovkin saying he might retire AFTER the Canelo fight is not at all comparable.

But Ward fans always have a special gift of twisting the facts in their minds.

let me guess...another "let me try to find a double standard" thread, even though it doesn't make sense or allow for nuance, context, or anything else reasonable. Those type of threads have made this place so great!

GGG is cashing out, a blindman would see it. The only reason he's fighting someone worthy is because he wont fight anymore, he's cashing out and taking the money. I dont think he cares very much about winning or losing to be honest. Whenever he cared, he fought but bums.

With that logic you could say the same about Golovkin who had a controversial win, is doing a cash out fight, and could retire. At least Ward rematched the guy who gave him hell, can't say the same about GGG.

So according to you Jacobs won, huh. How? By being outpunched, getting knocked down, and backing up for most of the fight? And then looking like this:

Nobody outside a narrow band of Ward/Floyd fans thinks Jacobs defeated Golovkin.

                    Little help:

-- Most fans and experts DISAGREED with the decision

A lot of folks thought Jacobs won that fight.

And even those who thought Lil g won thought it was close enough to merit a rematch.

There was no big difference in separation in the fighters, with several rounds scorable either way.

Whatever happens in Sept., to say Jacobs doesn't deserve a rematch is utter nonsense.
