Why no public backlash of GGG saying Canelo might be his last fight?

Dude is 37...that's retirement age for a professional athlete. If he was talking retirement at like 32 or something then maybe people could criticize it but at 37 if dude wants to call it a career then I don't fault him at all --especially in a sport as brutal as boxing

after canelo ggg would have fought everyone so who cares if he retires.
So Floyd retiring at 39 fights through 5 weight classes wasn't okay because there were still more people to fight. But GGG at the same amount of fights in one weight class is okay because there is no one left to fight? All the while Floyd has fought way more world champions then GGG who has fought maybe 2 decent guys.

I really didnt like that comment about thinking to retire...but it all comes down what happens in the fight, if he losses then I will **** on him. If he wins then he can do whatever he likes...because I dont see him winning other than from a KO.

And by the way Ward was talking retirement before he close a deal with kovalev for the rematch. That is why the backslash...GGG has already the deal signed. Do you get the difference right?

Nobody cares. Golovkin's stock fell fast after he struggled with a cancer patient he was supposed to destroy. Jacobs wasn't the rightful winner of the fight but he knocked a lot of the shine off the Golovkin nugget.

GGG says anyone from 154-168 and then proceeds to get his ass kicked by Jacobs, won't rematch him and now says Canelo may be his last fight and now all we hear are crickets.

Some of you guys have deep hidden issues. Tyrone not only kicked your ass in high school, but he also smashed your old lady
You can't be serious. Sorry, your entire post is incredulous. As far as having hidden issues I think you might have some. The definition of fanaticism is never changing your mind on a subject and continuously bringing it up. You really think "Jacobs kicked his ass." Come on now. We can agree to disagree but this is silly. Please explain.

Well, it cannot be overlooked that this statement of his fits right in with the narrative Little g's critics have been outlining for half a decade now...

Namely, that we will never see any of that "anyone from 154-168" hype and that the only thing K2 and Little g are doing is avoiding any challenges until they can get the "golden parachute" fight, which they see as a match with a guy who has never fought a middleweight.

Of course, the problem now is that the parachute may not be as big as they thought with the Mayweather-McGregor circus sucking (at a minimum) tens of millions of dollars from what they would have gotten, perhaps more.

That fight flops, we will see Triple L again, no doubt.

lol I knew this was coming. well just like everyone else needs to move up to get better fights or prove their worth and he didn't have to move up; hes not gonna get to much flack if he retires while all these fights are becoming available. Hes a good fighter tho and he beat Jacobs I really cant understand how some say he lost but as usual when u step up ur comp u don't look as great.

Are you talking about the same punch stats that said ward didnt land a punch in round 2 of the 1st fight against Kovalev?

Are you talking about the same punch stats that said Ward only landed 4 punches in rounds 7 of the rematch against kovalev?

Are you talking about the same punch stats that said Ward only landed 10 body shots in round 8 of the rematch?

These are the punch stats you rely so faithfully on?

I was at the fcuking fight and I'm telling you right now, Compubox was heavily flawed for Jacobs vs GGG... I was looking at the amount of jabs they said Jacobs landed and remember thinking HBO must think we're ******ed.

If you believe the Jacobs vs GG Compubox stats, maybe you really are ******ed
