I am not paying for this circus show. But as I said, I am supporting him to win for boxing sake.
Well I beg to disagree. Floyd represent the pinnacle/ premier of boxing supposedly. IF he fails to impress and fails to Knock down McGregor. It's like saying a boxing elite can't finish a novice fighter. Or a black belter in Karate can't finish a white belter.
Boxing takes a huge nose dive if Floyd looks pathetic, and a huge cloud will be hanging in the boxing world for being 2nd fiddle to MMA. That's what is riding here.
# Floyd has damaged boxing in his poor showing infront of millions around the world in the Pacquiao Fight. Another lame performance against a novice will be the end of boxing. Who wins? Floyd wins again for another carefully executed bank heist. While the boxing world takes a big hit and turns boxing into a mediocre sport.
I don't know If he needs a knockout but probably a few 10-8 rounds. I can't think of a single scenario where McGregor has any success. This fight will have a a lot staged theatrics. It's a show, not worth buying but some people will.

No it's not a show. This is not an exhibition fight. This is a sanctioned fight. Last time I checked Floyd doesn't care about the fans even if he throws boring fights. A win is a win. Well, in this case if he underwhelms. He is carrying Boxing down with him.
As I said a black belter should always win over a white belter, especially a 7 dan black belter against someone who just got his white belt. Think about that.
here some more:
Simple.
If McGregor (no boxing pro fights) still up in the 6 rounds. This will be bad for boxing.
If MCGregor (no boxing pro fights) survives 12 rounds. This will be the end of boxing.
why?
A non boxer who never fought in a pro fight was able to hang with a supposed elite of boxing. That will have repercussions if that scenario happens.
In the Octagon it has been proven an elite boxer, James Toney, can't win in an Octagon, and got blitz in the first round, therefor saving the sport of MMA.
In a boxing ring, if Floyd can't finish McGregor the same way Randy Coutour did to James. Then it only shows MMA is not far behind in terms of striking aka boxing skills. There is a lot running in this fight for Floyd to perform.
If Floyd does not deliver. He's legacy is fuvked and boxing will take a hit to go with his shame. Floyd has to perform for boxing's sake.
There is a lot riding in this circus show that floyd didn't realize. Now that he has signed. He needs to deliver.
That pressure for Floyd to perform might give McGregor the opening he needs to land that lucky punch hehe
Are you feeling the pressure for Floyd? You losing trust in his capability?
Sorry bud, last time I checked, McGregor's record is 0 pro fights. That's a novice in anyone's book. Floyd needs to deliver. That check won't matter if he will be fuvkn' humiliated by a novice. Believe me.
I'm aware that I'm replying to a person likely posting from an insane asylum (seriously...from one human to another, and as a lurker on this board, people like you & Larry really do have mental health issues).
But I'll take the bait for funzies
"Feeling the pressure"?! God, you are a ****ing loser. Seriously.
You have to know this bc people on this board say it to you all the time, and they really do mean it.
As a rational actor in society, I do not care who wins this fight. Do you understand that most adults grow out of their childhood obsession w sports? Don't you think it a bit odd when you see a grown man wearing a jersey with another man's last name on his back?
No, no you don't. You think this is normal.
It's fanaticism.
I tune into sports from time to time to be entertained. This whole event will be entertaining--especially for those whose lives carry on just fine if the red team or blue team wins.
The ALi vs Inoki fight was a circus show that has been tagged as an exhibition.
But few boxing pundits don't realize this true story. After the fight, Ali was almost about to lose his leg from all those Inoki kicks. Ali was almost near amputation. Ali could have fuvked up his career that night. It was actually a circus show gone wrong. Now, If McGregor makes this a fight. This will be very embarrassing for Floyd and boxing as a whole. Anything can happen.
This is very true. And it's funny how years ago all these people were saying Mayweather would get his ass kicked by a UFC fighter and you want to see how he would do etc now he's fighting one you are all backtracking and saying it's wrong, but if it wasn't happening you would say he's scared. Now I do think this is going to hurt the UFC, when McGregor gets schooled and probably KO'd. It's also going to make Dana White look like a buffoon for all the talking he's done, overall it's going to show that boxing is a far more advanced sport and that the UFC isn't even comparable. Will it break the PPV record? Probably, it will definitely be close.
It's going to be good from the standpoint of, when Mayweather destroys him inevitably some UFC/MMA fans are going to cross over and come to boxing. It's also good to see one sport vs another, fans of both are going to watch and so are loads of other people who don't normally watch boxing, who are just curious as to how it's going to go (regardless of who you are rooting for). The fight won't be competitive but as long as it's entertaining that's not going to be an issue.
this is boxing match against a fighter that make his living as an mma. Am pretty sure that if this fight were to happen under UFC rule, Floyd wouldn't have chance. This is not hurting anyone, only the idiot that would pay for the event
All this Mcgregor talk sounds eerily similar to the Pacquiao fight.
"Maybe this guy can hurt Floyd and knock him out! It's possible, anything can happen!"
I predict a boring fight where Floyd does what he's done for the past 10 years and wins the fight on his terms and makes it as boring as he wants it to be.
Floyd Mayweather doesn't even like boxing anymore, he just wants his money.
This fight isn't gonna hurt boxing! just like James Toney vs Randy Couture didn't hurt the UFC...... McGregor and the UFC are gonna get embarrassed though....
