DId ward vs kovalev make boxing look bad again?

ANOTHER controversial ending. Just what this sport needs, Ward wins VIA nutshot KO, no stand count, no verbal warning to Ward.

    WHAT SPORT IS THIS?

No, because casual fans have no idea who either of these guys are and weren't paying attention to the result.

It's like a bear pissing in the woods, if no one saw it did it really happen?

Not as bad as some of you want to make it. Stoppage could have went better but with the amount of complaining the vocal minority around here does you'd think it was a robbery of the year candidate. News flash. It wasnt. The boxing world has moved on. Ward is p4p #1 on every major list. Kovalev lost.

        No casuals watched it

Most boxing pros/media do not really feel the 'controversy' is legitimate

        We're onto May-Mac and Canelo-GGG now

Haters; "It was controversial and bad for boxing."

Everyone else, "Ward used intelligence and skill to hurt and finish boxing's boogeyman. Incredible victory."

Exactly. No one really has a clue who Kovalev or Ward are, boxing in the US is on life support in terms of attraction and allure. Can we take a minute to talk about how Rock Nation are absolutely awful? They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

It got a lot of bad press. For people who didn't watch the fight and just saw highlights of the finish, it looks bad. But like someone else posted, there wasn't a whole lot of interest in the fight, so i doubt it's gonna be much of a detriment to the sport. Why is kovalev the boogeyman and ggg is an overrated hype job? Didn't kovalev also recieve the same hype and also have a thin resume?

Of course boxing won´t attract new viewers if a ppv has two consecutive crap endings. There were plenty of casual fans watching worldwide, for example in my country this fight and many others are shown for free. I was watching it with at least 10 casual fans, and everyone of them agreed that this stoppage was horrid. It took everyone at least 5 seconds to see that the fight was in fact being stopped.
One thing i won´t do anymore... invite my friends to see a "good fight"... because everytime i do this i get
                A- a crap ending
                B- an overmatched fighter
                C- a wrong decision
