Exactly, after round 6 of the Joshua Klitschko who would have guessed how that would have ended, everyone is an expert at the time. That is why we watch boxing and tony weeks robbed the fans of what ever drama was to follow either way.

You know good and well people will be arguing over this for quite some time. People still argue about Floyd and Manny and that was years ago and far less controversial than this. Its just the newest talking point

Whether you get an inch above your nuts or 3 inches it hurts like hell and can actually pull your cup into your nuts.....it was low consecutively and should have been stopped...he was bent over for a reason and what tye ref should have done is pulled them apart and refereed it properly the fight was pretty close and no fighter shouod be stopped like that with that much element of doubt.....this is hot about ward winning this about ending the fight the right way with no controversy ....weeks totally ****ed up and ruined a reall good fight...perioid

Weeks is a pretty good referee in a usually does not make many mistakes but he did miss the low blows unfortunate none of them can all be the greatness that is Kenny Bayless... but I noticed during the week on the PBC show, Robert Byrd has really slipped considerably as well as on the opposite side of the fighters during the bouts, and at end of rounds, constantly on the wrong side of the fighters and as end of round approach...too far away to have stopped or prevented /something from happening... getting a little too old for this...

It is possible to recognise this and still give Ward massive credit for a great performance and a great win. He is a hell of a fighter.
The refree was utter trash and I don't normally say that about Weeks. Why? Well we can all speculate on various issues.

There are two points that must be investigated and Weeks must asnwer for:

              1. He, while giving his instructions, pointed to Kovalev's trunks, tapped the beltline, said it was low and then added "but I'll accept it" never in the history of the sport has there been such a call. Yes referees claim a fighters trunks are too high and say it...but when they're low? Does a qualified, highly paid, highly experienced referee not know what a low blow is?

              2. When he pulled Kovalev up and gave him a time out after Ward hit him low, why did he then react differently when Ward did it at leats 4 or 5 times after?

(Questions for Weeks to answer, not you lol but just something to think about)

Now, coming to what you said, how can you call it a "great win" when you yourself said teh ref did not identify lowblows and the stoppage was early...what about that win was great?

I do give credit to Ward for being braver than in the first fight, more active and more fluid with his combinations but he was about 2 rounds down on my card and similar on most of the press cards by the time the stoppage came. So surely Kovalev was even better than the "great" Ward in a fight where you claim Wrad was great...

I just don't understand this way of thinking.

What was disgusting was the blatant disregard for the months-long preparation for fairness participated in by no less than the commissioner himself to correct the perceived injustice in the first fight. We saw the commissioner get personally involved in the Rigo/Flores controversy.
Thus for a while everyone thought the main card would be squeaky clean in the officiating and judging. Then bam, Weeks threw everything out in the garbage and behaved as if this is just any other fight.

Ridiculous that Ward says his low blows were unintentional, but somehow Kovalev's rabbit punches were intentional.

This is just another cloudy win for Ward. He just simply cannot go ONE fight without fouling his opponent. NOT ONE! For being as talented as he is, it sure pizzizz me off to see that. NO excuse for it.

It is now confirmed that the last punch is a legit body shot. Weeks steps in and puts the racist out of his misery.

I guess you got a point. That's at least talking about a fight, not just borderline/severely low blow and bad officiating.

I just hope to get a good, clean, decisive, controversy-free (yeah right, this IS boxing) fight.
