Comments Thread For: Golovkin Feels Mayweather-McGregor is No Threat To His PPV

Gennady Golovkin has dismissed the threat of his superfight with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez being overshadowed by Floyd Mayweather's bout against Conor McGregor. Mayweather-McGregor was last week confirmed for Las Vegas on August 26, in the same city and just three weeks before the WBC, WBA, IBO and IBF middleweight unification fight between Golovkin and Alvarez.

He has the better fight, but I disagree. Mayweather-McGregor will 100% affect his PPV in terms of business.

Is it weird that when I read quotes of GGG I read the **** with his accent in my mind? I do the same thing with Morgan Freeman.

Yes I think it'll affect the Canelo vs Triple g ppv numbers but I also think maywether vs Mcgregor will flop.
No way does this fight do 3-4 million ppv's like they are anticipating.
It'll do 1.2-1.3 million ppv's. Still good but not what they're expecting.
That's right, you heard it from me first!

I agree and have said the same thing. No way does this fight do Mayweather/Pacquiao numbers.

I wonder, if it flops badly then would he have been better off taking a guaranteed $10m?

Yeah even without the Mayweather-McGregor fight I didn't see them getting that much PPV buys. How much $$$ do you've think 1.2-1.3m generates?

Although I wish this was the case, it will sadly affect what is a real fight. GGG vs. Canelo is the fight to see to most of us hardcore fans. The casuals flocking to that other "fight". People at work that never talk boxing are talking about it. It is great scam by both men, they dont care how the fight goes both are making too much money to give a ****. Truth.

This will save you the $100 on the Conor McGregor Floyd Mayweather fight.
