It was stopped because Kovalev was taking a pounding and wasn't fighting back. The last punch wasn't a significant full power shot to the the nads, it was another one that was close to the borderline if a tad low.

I don't agree with the stoppage. The ref should have let it go on so that Ward could finish kicking his ass completely.

I think to settle this debate we really need to watch the fight again in 4k resolution, black and white, with the sound off, and with Spanish commentating subtitles.
