I've always held that Ward is the only guy who can beat Golovkin, but one shot, even that one, is not going to do it. I wonder if Golovkin beats down Canelo, whether there would be interest for this fight.

Golovkin has a better chin than Kovalev. I really thought that was obvious.

            Golovkin has:

            - Better chin
            - Better reflexes
            - When he's open, chin is usually tucked (excluding Brook fight)
            - Tends to fight with his hands up
            - Doesn't switch stance mid fight

It would be interesting to see how he would have reacted to Ward's right hand.

              Golovkin's chin is unquestionably granite.
Golovkin's chin is very strong p4p, but we don't really know what would happen if someone at 175 hits him clean. Not saying Ward would flatten him or anything but I wouldn't be confident he could just take those punches w/o any issue.

Also GGG's stamina is much better than Kov's so it'd be a fundamentally different fight. Ward's path to landing that kind of shot would be more difficult.

And there is no way Ward could make 164 now, might not even be able to make 168 again.

Ward is a terrible matchup for GGG, it would be a blowout.
Ward -GGG makes much more sense than Ward going up.

Any fighter at any moment can get hurt, some more, some less... Seeing and a anticipating the punch plays a role too...

I think if GGG was at the same exhaustion level as Kpv, he would get hurt.... Ddamn even if Ward was on the receiving end, he would have koed him self
