you are comparing apples and oranges a pure boxer cannot beat an well rounded MMA fighter in a fight that allows boxing and grappling but take away the grappling aspect and the boxer will still have trouble because the MMA fighter will utilize the leg kicks but take away the kicks and the boxer will kill the MMA fighter
Thats the bottom line, case closed.

he would get killed.
possibly, but its not easy to KO a guy with a punch while he's diving at your knees... look at it this way, MMA guys train all the time to defend against the takedown and they still get takin down in a MMA fight.... so how's a boxer, who's never trained to defend against it gonna do it?

Being an MMA fighter is the true definition of a "complete" fighter. They know each and every aspect of the fight game. At any weight class, MMA fighters will beat boxers 99% of the time. All boxers will look one-dimentional bums to MMA fighters, because they only know the stand-up game.

Good Post bro.
Boxing has always been my number 1 but you have to respect MMA as well. Two different sports , but essentially combat. If an MMA guy got in there with a boxer and fought strictly boxing only, he would likely lose. If a boxer got in there with a MMA guy and fought in a Cage with MMA rules he would more than likely be choked out or forced to quit. Plain and simple.

mma as we know it has indeed been around for a blink of an eye. you can go on and on and speak about how ancient the components of MMA are, but let's be real here, mma as a modern sport was concieved when mr. rorion gracie little more than a decade ago brought the idea of a no holds barred fight from the vale tudo exhibitions in his homeland to the US in order to showcase his lil' bro royce whoopin' some redneck ass. cus using your logic i can go on to say that boxing predates any of those other martial arts since i'm quite sure **** erectus executed more punches than flying triangles chokes, crescent kicks, and jujigatames.
and given the fact that they were banned completely from television and ppv, yes, my friend, i'd say they were VERY LUCKY to have made it this far.
I NEVER said a boxer wasn't a fighter. I'm just saying that a boxer would get his ass handed to him by a fighter with a ground game. A fencer is still a fighter, but take away the sword and who is he?

I have watched all that MMA **** with the ineffective little kicks to the legs and stuff. Anyone with toughness like Tyson would just walk through that and as soon as your foot is raised off the floor all it needs is for him to land one of his concussive bombs and you are out. Better believe.
Corrales/Castillo relates because I never see any MMA dude show that much heart in a fight, nor skill in a fight. Its always over early in MMA, and the dudes they are fighting are complete ****ing nobodies with glass chins. One shot to the dome and they are gone. Try doing that to Castillo" .... .....you have never taken Martial arts in your life have you ? A martial artist could spend his whole life on one move how long does it take to learn a damn jab

That its more of a dance than an actually applied skill.
Also, so you might now, but fighter perfects his punches his whole career.
