How do you rate Kovalev?

I been seeing after the fight some saying kov is overrated and Ward exposed him.

His resume is solid, if you want to count the first Ward fight as a win fine its good. But some of his wins Chilemba, Mohammedi got beat by Gvozdyk who dealt with them easier. Pascal who robbed Gonzalez got destroyed by Gvozdyk. Agnew got completely destroyed by Bivol while some were saying that Kov got exposed after his fight with Agnew because he was getting touched up by him. Smith taking out Hopkins although even a older version.

Was Kov at LHW at the right time when it was just him and Adonis? You got Ward now, Gvozdyk, Adonis, Beterbiev, Bivol coming up, Barrera, Joe smith.

Imo i still think Kov is a good fighter and should be in the mix with any of these guys.

Whoever is downing kov is a ******ed idiot. Kov is still a top p4p boxer. He simply lost to beat in the world. Imo he beat him the last fight so I'm not gonna just act like that didn't happen.

Do I think kov bailed like a sissy so he wouldn't get ktfo, yes. But dude is still one of the best out there. Even if you think he lost the first one he lost razor thin to the beat in the world and knocked him down clean.

Respect him as a fighter even though he went out weak.

He's still a top fighter only bettered by an exceptional fighter. I hope ward now gets the credit he deserves. Kovalev can beat stevenson in my opinion and it wouldn't be a bad route to go down if the politics can be dealt with. He will never have the aura that is so important to fighters like him and we'll have to see how he deals with that.

Yeah I meant moreso to the other people. Every single time a fighter loses they just get abandoned after the fight.

hard to tell, but from the eye test not that highly. obviously a world level fighter but overrated in the sense that people were calling it 'pound for pound' in the original event. his cvs not that good, hes not actually beaten a world class fighter, offensively quite limited. a lot of his wins dont look that great in retrospect now either (pascal, hopkins) when you see what other fighters have done to them. I am a fan of his just dont rate him as high as ggg or lomachenko, nowhere near as good. Before people start mouthing off ive been saying this for a long time and i wasnt blown away by the skill level of the two fighters last night or in the first fight. Beterbiev hasnt been hugely tested but looking at his combos, footwork etc i think he is much better. That should be kovalevs next fight, try and avenge the amateur losses.

Imo, he should move up to Cruiserweight, fight a light touch or two to get acclimated to Cruiser and finish his career at Cruiserweight.

He's not getting any younger, he's 34. He should just move up to Cruiser, especially since he has been gassing out in fights by round 5 or so. He should just move up and finish his career at Cruiser.
