    How do you rate Kovalev?

I been seeing after the fight some saying kov is overrated and Ward exposed him.

His resume is solid, if you want to count the first Ward fight as a win fine its good. But some of his wins Chilemba, Mohammedi got beat by Gvozdyk who dealt with them easier. Pascal who robbed Gonzalez got destroyed by Gvozdyk. Agnew got completely destroyed by Bivol while some were saying that Kov got exposed after his fight with Agnew because he was getting touched up by him. Smith taking out Hopkins although even a older version.

Was Kov at LHW at the right time when it was just him and Adonis? You got Ward now, Gvozdyk, Adonis, Beterbiev, Bivol coming up, Barrera, Joe smith.

Imo i still think Kov is a good fighter and should be in the mix with any of these guys.

He's an extremely good one-dimensional fighter. Very hard to beat within his favoured range, but a little lost when you take that away from him. I still need to see him vs Stevenson and/or Beterbiev before I can make a conclusion about his legacy

He earned the right to be called P4P #1 IMO. Last night's antics from him in the 7th and 8th drop him like a stone to me. He turtled when faced with a challenge, that is unforgivable. Falls to the bottom of the top 10 P4P.

As for his legacy? Solid career resume, still has a chance to redeem himself some. Won't be a top 100 all time P4P fighter, top 40 or better was on the table for him.

        P4P top 10 still

He's a great outboxer, controls distance very well but is soft on the inside. Luckily for him the number of truly great inside fighters left in this sport is minimal

Well he's a guy who looked good, but hadn't fought top class opposition until ward and can barely go 6 rounds without gassing...so not very highly. Historically this guy doesn't rank up there with the top light heavies. Could you imagine kovalev in there with roy jones, or in 15 round dog fights with the 175ers of the 80s?

I've been saying for a while that the new guard coming up would give him a tough challenge and probably beat him. He's already done great things in his career though so no need to hate on the dude.

I'm a Kovalev fan (the fighter, not the man) and think he was the #2 best in the world going into this. However, he's cracked now. Those complaints during the fight are the fractures in the dam. The signs that the mind is breaking. I don't know if he'll be the same but I hope he pulls it together because he's still one of the best in the world, if he can mentally recover.

He's still second. But probably third best. Adonis send him packing to russia

Im not hating just asked the question because saw others discrediting kov after the fight.

How do you think he does against any of the new former soviet fighters coming up?
