would GGG fare better than Kovalev vs Ward?

I would honestly feel bad for GGG is he were to ever fight Ward, but I guess the dreamer's on here would say he has a puncher's chance.

GGG is superior to Kovo in every aspect of the game. There is no comparison. I hope one day GGG and Ward will face off once and for all and we will see who the better fighter really is. Until then, Ward has his games to play and GGG has his. Every boxer GGG has faced has tasted that diesel piston jab an none are ever the same after that,.....including Daniel Jacobs. Kovo' jab is nowhere near as lethal as GGG's. When GGG goes to the body things really go south for the opposition. I think Ward would suffer the same fate.

And here we go, now Kovalev was a bum.

GGG wants nothing to do with Ward at any weight. Ward is too big and too fast for GGG, he stops Golovkin in 6.

How about Kovalev vs GGG at 168? If the Krusher could make that weight he'd be a solid favorite vs GGG even after getting wrecked by Ward.

Gennady is a better fighter than Kovalev and at 168 he would have some chance, but I would favour Ward.

I think the biggest difference (and there are quite a few differences) is that Gennady is much smarter fighter compared to Kovalev.

hes a considerably better fighter than kovalev and ive said that consistently even before the first fight. at 168 golovkin can beat ward, no question about it. Who has kovalev actually beat who wasnt old and shot? Im a fan of his but ward fans are hyping him up now, after they labelled him some stiff one dimensional euro he struggled badly against chilemba. The win against hopkins doesnt look so good now either when you see joe smith did a demolition job on him.

Golovkin doesn't like it to the body much either, and Ward would be significantly stronger than him in the clinch

He does have a much wider arsenal than Kovalev though and could perhaps catch Ward more cleanly with uppers to the chin and hooks to the ribs

If he, his team or HBO thought he'd beat Ward they'd have fought already at 168 a while ago.

Yes he would, he has more talent and skill sets than Koval.
Unfortunately the weights make less sense now than a few years ago. Ward can NOT reach 168 (can barely make 175) and GGG is a natural middleweight.
If they sign to fight at light heavy GGG will weigh 174 and Ward 190. When your giving up close to 20 pounds and one man is not above 190 your giving up to much.

However if I were GGG and I dominate Canelo I'm going after Ward. Make him bust down to 172, he's down 3lbs and GGG is up
                    12 pounds!

I want guaranteed money, plus a pc of the ppv.

He has no shot against Ward.

If they were both the same size that would be an interesting skillset matchup. But add in the fact that Ward is now a full LHW who would have height and reach advantages he did not have against Kovalev, and I just can't imagine GGG winning.

GGG is an impressive fighter but no sense in getting himself decapitated by 175lbers.
