would GGG fare better than Kovalev vs Ward?

Great jab like Kov. Great power like Kov.. Better at cutting the ring off than Kov... Amazing Chin... Way better body puncher than Kov and 1000 times more stamina than Kov.

Overall better fighter but would the size be too much to overcome? If it happened at 170 would it be competitive?

Ward showed he could adjust in the first fight although he never dominated the Russian. Second fight was also back and forth early until he broke him mentally and physically...

Could GGG pull the victory? Would he get KTFO? Ward easy UD?

if GGG beats down Canelo in Sept the Ward talks will start up again and it would now make a lot of sense money wise for both guys to meet somewhere in the middle if possible...

Pahaha **** me, you have changed your tune. Literally the worst band wagon fans I have come across.

In response to Jsmooth - I don't think he would. Different stylistic matchup, different set of problems, but easier one's for Ward to solve. He will box GGG's ears off at range because he has way better movement and foot speed, and more than match him on the inside. Always a punchers change I guess, but very low chance of that. Ward will do what he did to Kovalev, not allow him the leverage to really use his power, the size and strength difference is significant and Ward will start pushing GGG back after round 6, at that point it gets one sided.

I don't see any fighter out there that could do to Ward what Kovalev is able to do. There are no fighters with that size, athleticism, timing, and accuracy. Not to mention the threat of his power at long range means Ward can't take as many offensive risks as he might against other fighters. Kovalev is arguably a better light-heavyweight than Ward for 6 rounds, he just about shades him for 6 or 7 rounds, but as I have said in another thread, championship bouts are not 6-7 rounds.

i have never been a kovalev fan. as a matter of fact, i've called him having a bad gas tank before even the first ward fight.

i just think Kovalev is a better boxer than Ward. nothing changed my mind last night.

however when comparisons of GGG and kovalev came up i always said Kovalev's fought nothing but light touches and he has no gas tank.

I wonder if Ward would fight as negative/passive-aggressive as he did vs. Kovalev when he'd have a size advantage over GGG. I would like to watch a aggressive Ward for once. "Aggression" for Ward means a sloppier fight though, so maybe I'd regret that wish.

No way. Ward is the best fighter north of 160. If GGG was getting challenged by Jacobs, he has no chance against Ward. Ward could beat him with nothing but straight rights.

If you take away the occasional low blows, you can see Ward is just on another level right now. Looked incredible yesterday.

I don't think he was passive aggressive and he can be very aggressive depending on the opponent. He let Kovalev punch himself out once again and switched gears when it counted.

                    Two problems for G.
One Ward is a bigger man.
Two Ward can foul whenever he wants and nothing is done about it.
