There were a couple low blows but you gotta dig down deep. Andre out hustled him. You can't argue it
Q: Did you agree with the stoppage?
JDJ: Well i don't really agree with it but if Sergey isn't fighting back what are you gonna do? And he wasn't really defending himself
He says something happened but he can't talk about it right now. Kovalev wasn't injured. He says Kovalev has to become a better inside fighter
Asked if he's to blame for the loss because of the distractions about him trying to go to team ward
You can't blame me. When you lose the first thing you gotta do is look in the mirror

I agree with him. There were certainly a couple questionable blows at the end of the fight but I've seen way worse happen to others and they've come back and fought. Kovalev needed to take a knee and catch his breath there instead of bending over helplessly. He was shook from that right hand but not out of it completely. When you've never been in that position I guess it's tough to know the right thing to do.Comment

According to Kovalev, JDJ is just the mitt guy and he trains himself. And Kovalev brought over a Russian biathlon coach for his strength and conditioning. So not sure how much blame JDJ gets.Comment

I get that but ultimately he was responsible for having his fighter prepared to win the fight. He knew Kov had problems dealing with a body attack. He needed to address it by constructing a plan to take that offense away from Ward.Comment
