You're thinking of the Ward of now against the heavyweights; but you must imagine him after a serious bulk-up program. Remember how Michael Spinks knocked out Gerry Cooney.

I'd love to see Ward continue to set the example of what chasing greatness is all about and go after a heavyweight title.

Just don't waste time waiting on bum ass Chickenson

      I agree he is a first-ballot HOF'er

but if he wants to be regarded as great, then Stevenson is exactly who he should fight next

he dropped the ball with Bute imho, that was cheap shine..... he absolutely should get back in there asap, with Stevenson

not meaning that Stevenson is cheap, just that Ward should take those opportunities, especially now..... and he needs to stay active

he should get that hardware, and that Canadian money, then cherry-pick a champ at CW..... one that has an easier style..... a slow but heavy-handed, typically over-rated tough-guy type

then a legit defence to give the historians something to think about

talking about heavyweight is dumb imo, he should quit that talk

A serious bulk-up program isn't gonna make him any taller and isn't going to make his reach any further. You're talking about him fighting guys that are half a foot taller than him and have a reach that is 10 inches longer. There is literally nothing he could do about that... could be as slick as he likes he'd still eat jabs all night and not be able to get close enough.

Beyond that, if somehow he were able to get close enough and manage to win rounds he isn't gonna be able to stand up to being hit by guys that are around 250 pounds so no fights would go the distance. Plus he's not exactly known as being a powerful puncher so even with the extra muscle mass the likelihood that he'd really be able to dent the super heavyweights is slim to none.

Stevenson and maybe cruiserweight is the best he can hope to achieve. Heavyweight would be a pipe dream or a cash in.

Andre Ward will break Joshua's ribs and take Joey Parker to school!

Parker would probably be the easiest of the current titlists, but even he is a monster compared to Ward, those other guys are way too big

Well, I had written that his chances would be slim, not that he would be the new Mike Tyson.
