The reason that was a good stoppage by Weeks

There is no standing 8 count in Nevada. The ropes weren't holding Kovalev up and he wasn't touching the canvas so Weeks couldn't call it a KD. He was defenseless with his hands at his waist bending over and couldn't protect himself. That was a textbook stoppage according to the rules

But the most telling this is Kovalev didn't protest the stoppage. He quit!

Kovalev was looking for a way out after that right hand

the "textbook rules" dictate that a knockout stoppage by an illegal blow should result in immediate DQ loss for the offending fighter. Considering that the final blow was clearly 100% below the beltline as replays showed, then it means Tony Weeks ****ed up and Andrew son of andrew golota Ward lost

Kovalev said he wasn't hurt doe... doesn't know why it was stopped.

Imagine poor Kellerman with that poker face, "Sergey, you were crouched below on the ropes not fighting back, what style is that called in Russia?!" -Hey Max

Kovalev also faked a low blow earlier in the round. He was looking for a way out. He's lucky Ward didn't jump on him then

Exactly! Did you see his post fight interview? Dude looked like he was just saying these things to defend his pride, didn't even look like he complained after it was stopped.

jab, jab, right hand is all he has. Ward took away the right hand by working his body making Kov only throw arm punches.

Now lil g string is next, Canelo will do a job on him.

Kovalevs face straight after the stoppage told me everything I need to know. He didn't want to carry on.
