Kovalev was making too much of the low blows from early on in the fight, and quite frankly (and I'm not talking just about the stoppage) none of those punches were proper low, the lowish one's were mostly on the waistband, which is normally ok, and in fact Weeks said anything on the waistband for both fighters is ok in pre-fight.

Before the right hand from Ward, Kovalev was hit with two shots on the upper part of the waistband and was clearly hurt, the shots were absolutely fine, and again he complained about low blows, but it was obvious at this point he can't take it downstairs.

The stoppage was BS, not from the point of view of the low shots, but the fact that it was premature. Weeks should have given Kovalev a count as the ropes were keeping him up. It is so annoying because it was a great fight, and the referee has probably stopped Ward from getting a legit stoppage or clear win. You also never know if Kovalev could come back from that, although considering his conditioning, I doubt it, problem is we'll never know.

Lastly I want to congratulate both guys for a great fight, its not their fault what happened. Also just to reiterate to you, what a turd of a poster you are. Now learn to give Ward credit, he is a great fighter, and Kovalev is lucky with the stoppage because it has saved him from a proper beating, and you from further embarrassment.

Been watching boxing pretty consistently for about 15 years now and I've never seen anything like that before. Allowing a boxer to hit low and refusing the opponent any recoup time at all. Phuck this sport......it's a joke.

Legal or not weeks should have not stopped fight yet. Ward deserves an unquestionable win he trained his butt for it, and kova needs to be given a chance for a comeback since he wasn't unconcious or out off his feet.
