i didnt want to to write this type of thread. i said in the build up kovalev wouldnt get a fair shake. i wasnt going to get annoyed but **** me that was absolutely disgusting, genuinely never seen anything like it.
First of all the stoppage was so premature. its not as if he was taking big shots to the head.
We say about wards fouls and sound like a broken record, but ****ing hell he ended the fight by hitting him low 3 times.
They let him get away with other low blows throughout the fight.
No point in another rematch, theyll never let ward lose in america.

You are right on the money. Disgraceful display from Ward. Those low blows were so obvious a blind man could see it. The stoppage was premature and the fix was in. Disgusting.

Ive been watching boxing for almost 18 years and Ive never seen anything like this. This was the worst refereeing and worst stoppage I have ever seen for a high profile fight with a high profile ref. And that was real shady showing obstructed camera angels of the ball shots until the very end when they finally showed a clear shot and it was a direct hit. I mostly caught the UK version which had Paulie M on it and he was starting to lose his chit on the stoppage. Then I saw Max interview at the end with both fighters and that was a complete joke and he was a complete shill for Ward and pretended as if nothing was out of the ordinary.

Only post that made sense. Very true. Those angles HBO were showing were very suspect. What I've learned from these two fights are 1) Kovalev doesn't have the stamina to convincingly beat Ward 2) Ward will literally do anything to win, even if it's against the rules 3) Boxing is corrupt and we have to accept it 4) HBO's bias is disgusting and unprofessional. 5) Boxing needs some restructuring before it dies out
