Wow did you see that replay?

Eh, Kovalev completely had completely given up by the point and the ref, RJJ and and Max all concluded the punches were borderline. Potential low blows don't account for the discrepancy in class tonight. What's even the point in clinging to this nonsense excuse? Kovalev was being outclassed.Comment

Two of the judges had Ward up for some reason.
So the "stoppage" doesn't really matter. The fix was already in. Boxing is done in my mind.Comment

What a horrible night. They need to get rid of these senile referees.
Dracula wandering around for 20 minutes mumbling some **** about "he was holding him" oblivious to the bell issue then this "stoppage" consisting of a combination straight to the balls followed by laying on his back to help him down. What the ****?Comment

stop crying and making excuses ffs...he had nothing left..he was wobbly on his legs..kovalev knew he was done look at his eyes when the ref stopped the fight..this is the best thing what could happen to him now he can keep crying and complaining..but just like their hero his fans are crying and complaining even tho they know that man had nothing left in the tankComment

Skillwise Kovalev wasn't even in the same ballpark and was clearly looking for a way out of the fight. He called low blow on multiple occasions which got denied by the ref. Sergey was looking for free breathers without having to take a knee. He did indeed win 2-3 rounds based on jabs and activity but his gameplay (to double his punching output from fight 1) was absolutely unsustainable. No point for Ward going the same ****** speed that won't last 12. Ward beat the fight out of him and the stoppage was about right, perhaps a little early. But Kovalev was broken, so whatever. Him not taking the L was a pretty bad look honestly. He's a bully who's not used to getting beaten up, and frankly, he didn't take it very well, did he?
I'd also like a frank evaluation from you as to how you see the fight play out without the "low blows"? Did you feel like there two equally matched boxers facing each other in round 8? Would you be confident in picking Kovalev in a rematch?Last edited by Hond; 06-17-2017, 11:11 PM.Comment
