Until you read the rules and realize that there is no standing 8 count in Vegas title fights. Pretty sure that Howard Lederman announced that. Kovalev got rocked, and he folded up against the ropes and did not respond. Had he taken a knee, he would have gotten up and likely been stopped. Either way, Weeks saved Kovalev.

stoppages like this and rigged judging is why i stopped following boxing for awhile. and i come back here to see half of NSB celebrating low blows of course, nothing new, this community breeds low IQ fans that are far too invested in fighters for the ******est of reasons. the hell is with this sport...

It was a horrible stoppage, but Ward had figured him out and was going to stop him anyway.

If anything Weeks rescued Kovalev, because now he can save face and claim that the Americans "robbed" him again and will still be a hero to his "alt-right" fan base.

While, I'm not sure of the politics of Kovalev fan's, I agree with the assessment of the fight: bad stoppage but it was inevitable. Ward had turned the tide and Kovalev was wilting.

Big difference. When you knock someone out and do a dance, after you've been in a fight where someone died then the term psycho is fair. Lots of fighters are psychos. But of them are cowards and to cast aspersions on their manhood and courage is pathetic for keyboard warriors. If one cheats on he's wife I can say he's a lousy husband.
