How do you know Kovalev does not have a minimum guarantee from main events? Please provide a source? And just because you have a guaranteed amount doesn't mean the promoter has to pay that amount on fight night. You think kovalev doesn't know the first fight didn't sell well? Why would he agree to fight again if his money was ONLY tied to ppvs and gates? There is no way he is walking away with 600k when he was fighting bums on regular HBO for over 1m. If the fight flops the promoters are taking the loss and kovalev making some guaranteed amount over 1m regardless. What does it matter if that sum comes on fight night or after? I don't hear kovalev complaining.Canelo had a guarantee. Kovalev doesn't. His money is based strictly on PPV sales which he has to split with HBO, Cable/Satellite distributors, Main Events, and Roc Nation/Andre WArd. The gate which he has to split with Roc Nation/Main Events/Andre Ward and it isn't sold out. How much money do you think is in this fight? Each promoter gets around 22% of the PPV sales. So if this does 165,000 again (which I highly doubt) at $70 a pop that's $10 mil. Main Events take from that is 22% which is $2.3 mil. So if he's splitting that by half that's $1.15 million dollars. And ain't no way that fight is doing 165,000 buys again. He'll be lucky to clear a million dollars. Fighters should have a guarantee and PPV upside is a bonusLast edited by bigdunny1; 06-15-2017, 06:51 PM.Comment

Just like that $20 mil guarantee Manny has in his contract that he doesn't get anymore? These purses reported to the NSAC is monies guaranteed to each fighter the night of the fight. No trick accounting. No relying on how good of a job the promoter did. This is what a fighter gets for doing an honest days work. Kovalev is getting nothing and that's not right. How do you know Kovalev does not have a minimum guarantee from main events? Please provide a source? Main Events sucks and kovalev might be a bigger star with another promoter. But getting bent out of shape because he getting paid after the fight instead of paid and full on fight night isn't a big deal. Again Canelo gets paid a tiny fraction of his minimum guarantee on fight night. Just 3.5m for the khan fight and 5m for chavez was paid when he had a guarantee of 14m and 20m respectively and that amount was owed regardless if the ppv flops. If the chavez fight did only 400k buys he was still getting every dime of that 20m it just would of been golden boy paying out of pocket. Same here kovalev getting paid if it flops kathy digging in her wallet to pay him. She just giving herself some extra time to recoup some money before she has to pay him. Again as long as the fighter has contract for the guarantee nobody is getting hurt. I have no clue how much Manny is making but he isn't complaining about not being paid what was told to him. That's the key you making it seem like kovalev hasn't been told what his take will be I think he has there is an amount that he knows he walks away with regardless if no one buys the ppv. If that amount is given fight night or after what's the big deal?Just like that $20 mil guarantee Manny has in his contract that he doesn't get anymore? Kovalev needs to fire his whole team if he wins. They are not doing anything for him as I see it and pretty much along for the ride. Literally anyone can get him a deal like that, his dog could negotiate that sort of deal and all he would have to pay him in is dog treats rather than a hefty cut of money no one appears to be really earning except Kovalev.
What has Main Event done to promote this fight? If his manager is not working on that exit he should be out also because he would also be worthless because he is not serving Kovalev's interests well.Comment
