i agree canelo cant box from the outside like golovkin can, but he won't need to because he is gonna fight ggg at close quarters. where he will throw punches in bunches and golovkin won't have any room to throw power shots back. ggg cant fight on the inside. he needs space. this is why canelo wins the speed battle. canelo won't have to use his feet. this fight is gonna be fought in the center of the ring.
Just a brothers honest opinion on GGG-Canelo

fighting a fast defensive fighter is a harder task than a power puncher with no defense.
floyd will prove to be a tougher challenge than golovkin for Alvarez.
canelo by decision.Comment

You couldn't resist getting your Floyd bias in here huh? LOL.
Floyd doesn't damage fighters, GGG does. This will be a more grueling fight for Canelo and he will need to dig deep to win.Comment

Ive always praised GGG's footwork as it is very underrated BUT it is good when fighters move.
I look at this fight as a watered down version of Chavez Sr. vs. Pernell Whittaker. Chavez Sr. didnt have problems against movers just like GGG dont, in fact I think they preferred guys to try to keep a distance. Whittaker knew this and stood center ring made him miss, smothered his punches, and countered. I believe Canelo will do the same as he has shown he has the reflexes to do so against much faster fighters than GGG. Will it work? Who knows. The speed though I think will be a favorable difference for Canelo especially in the first 6rds.Comment

I'm definitely not bias to any fighter in the history of the sport. every fighter gets held to the same standard in my world. boxing is bigger than any boxer. with that being said.
canelo lost every round against said fast defensive fighter. canelo has a chance to not only win multiple rounds against golovkin but he also has a chance to get a k.o. victory because that said power fighter gets hit at will.
fast defensive fighters are harder to beat than slow power puncher.
ask De la hoya who was tougher to fight sweat pea or Tito
ask pacquiao who was harder to fight Floyd or cotto
ask Mosley who was harder to fight mora or margarito
defensive fighters are harder to fight than offensive fighters.Comment

This is exactly how I see it playing out. Canelo I feel will have a tough time getting away from GGG's jab which is very powerful. Canelo's lack of lateral movement will also be a big problem with how GGG is able to cut the ring off constantly behind a stiff jab and knows how to create openings. Canelo is the faster combination puncher of the two, but to your point he exerts a lot of energy which is why he tends to take breaks. He won't have that luxury against GGG who gets stronger as the fight progresses. Canelo will make a good effort but GGG will out gun him to a late stoppage.
However, I strongly do believe that once Canelo tastes the power of GGG (allegedly the same power as that of a light heavyweight), we might see him shell up a little bit. GGGs jabs might be key in keeping him at bay. If you haven't seen Golovkin-Jacobs, then watch it. And rewatch it again until you realise how efficient golovkins Jab was against him.
Also, STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. So we can't judge any of them based on their previous performances. Jacobs is not Chavez. Enough said.
Canelo fans have to realise that since Canelo is more of a speedy fighter, he invests a lot of energy and stamina into those flashy combinations, which requires him to take rests between rounds. This can be his Kryptonite as ggg fights at an insanely high pace and pressures you till he finds the right moment to let those bombs go.
My official prediction: GGG by TKO in either 10, 11 or 12.
I pick a late round since Canelo is a proud Mexican fighter and he won't go down without a heck of a fight. Granted, he's gonna win some rounds but GGGs superior power and stamina will get him the W.Comment

Alavarez was still coming up when he fought Floyd, he is a different fighter now. You're right on one thing, he won't have to chase GGG to make it a fight and entertain the fans.I'm definitely not bias to any fighter in the history of the sport. every fighter gets held to the same standard in my world. boxing is bigger than any boxer. with that being said.

DLH beat a fading Whitaker, lost to Tito because of his decision to run for the last four rounds.
Pac went into the Floyd fight with an injury, perhaps a different outcome if 100%, maybe, maybe not. Pac definitely got hurt more by Cotto than Floyd.
Regardless, Canelo/GGG is a refreshing break from all things Floyd/Manny. It will be a different fight and likely a way more entertaining fight. This fight will be good for boxing, the former wasn't.Comment

my point is Oscar had a harder fight against that faded defensive fighter than he did against that prime puncher.
anyway we agree that September 16 will be a good night for boxing.Comment
