I though Jacobs won until I rewatched it. I was drunk during the live fight and thought he edged it but on further review GGG beat him. Good fight tho I want to see it again.

If Saunders fights any of the guys ranked 2,3 or 4 or Jacobs, it will be the toughest fight of his career. Any of those guys would be worthy opponents but it does seem strange to immediately dismiss an opponent before the WBO has even made a ruling on Khurtsidze. I fear that we will see him choose another overmatched opponent like Liam Smith or Tommy Langford or worse.

It's no secret that he wants to cash out his belt against either Canelo or Golovkin, which is understandable, but normally paper champs like Saunders fulfil their mandatory obligations by choosing the weakest opponent possible, Saunders isn't even doing that, he is simply holding the belt for as long as he can in the hope that one of the bigger names will buy the belt off him.

19 months and only 1 title defence is a joke, if he doesn't want to face a test then the WBO should make Lemieux or Jacobs the next mandatory.

The UK has had a great resurgence in world class boxing but to blatantly rule out Jacob's is disgraceful.

It aint only Saunders ducking though, theres a bit of the WBO bending over for Golden Boy mixed in, and there not being a chance in hell of Golden Boy stepping aside to let Jacobs have a shot
