Recognition as one of the best and putting on a show are not synonymous. Gatti put on a show but was never considered on of the best. All he said was he had to focus on winning not putting on a show. Last I checked you get recognized for winning.

there's some 47-0 dude who nobody cares about so no thats not it. ward won the lottery because he was born in the usa and he has manipulated his built in fanbase as well as the rules. things such as rigging the super six in his favor, handpicking weak opposition for big money, and illegal tactics that always go unpunished. not to mention the terrible kovalev decision. if he was born in most other places he wouldnt get recognition whether he won or not.

Ward can't worry about pleasing the crowd. Andre's a defensive fighter who doesn't take chances. That's his style and he's undefeated with it.
There aren't too many fighters who have the ability to win and put on a show. Fighters like Morales, Barrera, Pacquiao and Golovkin are crowd pleasers because they're willing to take chances and let their hands go.
