Face of boxing right now

The Kiltschko era was rough ONLY if you lived in America, or the United Kingdom! But all over Europe and in the old Soviet Union the Kiltschko brothers are legends! (I can remember i used to work with a german girl, and one day, i was talking about boxing to her! and i was just reeling off names to her! She only knew who Mike Tyson was and The Kiltschko brothers! She told me that her entire family would sit down to watch all of the Kiltschko fights!).....
That is why Globally i don't really think Floyd Mayweather was ever the face of boxing! (He never fought outside of america for a reason!)...
Nah, the biggest money makers in the sport and on a global scale were Mayweather and Pacquiao at that time. And the welterweight division was competitive with other stars as well.
After Mike Tyson, Holyfield and Lennox Lewis retired the Klitschko era was void of depth, talent and competition. Plus the Klitschko's had a boring style. Particularly Wladimir with his jab, grab, hold stuff.
If the Klitscko's era was during the time of Tyson, Holyfield and Lewis it would have been great for the Klitschko's.
And also if the Klitschko's era was now, it would have been great for them.
But their era is from 2004-2014 which was the most dreadful era of the Heavyweights. Void of depth, competition and talent.
Let's put it this way, if there were European, German, Russian, Polish, etc..Heavyweights during that era with the talents of a Holyfield, Lewis, Tyson, Joshua, Wilder, **** give me even a few Povetkins minus the PED's, David Tua, Andrew Golota minus the meltdowns, Razor Ruddock.
If there were Europeans/Asians with that kind of talent during the Klitschko era then yes it would have been a hell of an era. But as it is, their weren't any with that kind of talent. It was void of depth, talent and competition. And the worst era in the Heavyweight division I've ever seen.Comment

Neither guy is good enough to rule long term.
Canelo is surrounded by ass-whippings at 154 and 160.
Joshua will be lucky to win the Klitchko rematchComment

Canelo is not going back down to 154, where is that coming from?
And yes, he may lose his upcoming fight September 16th and depending on who he fights after he might lose again. But we will see.
I doubt Klitschko will do better than what he did in April. At 41 nearing 42 I definitely do not see it. Joshua on the other hand can improve on his mistakes and perform better, Klitschko not much he can do better at this point.
But we are talking about right now.
At the moment right "now" those are the two guys. Canelo and Joshua
Who knows what the future will bring, but right "now" those are the two that come to mind.
What other guys can you think of that come to mind that can be the face of boxing now and in the future?Last edited by The Time; 06-11-2017, 06:59 PM.Comment
