This is a very dangerous opponent for Joe. I would have preferred to see him get a title shot for bigger money.

But he can win and I'll be rooting for him.

I hope Joe Smith pulls off the W, but Barrera is the favorite for a reason.

I gotta root for the underdog.

How is that 'made it impossible'? Joe is a huge draw in NY, a quality opponent, and everything you mentioned (if true) is just from having smart management. Nothing greedy there at all. I know Superman thinks he's bigger than he is in reality, but on what planet would be get a bigger paycheck, outside of the Kovalev fight? It's Adonis who is delusional.
Fat Dan on ESPN said same thing-Joe Smith team made crazy demands and the fight fell through.

Plenty of talk on blogs here and elsewhere that that's a b.s. story anyway, so I'll stick w/my original comments, thanx.

didn't realize Adonis has another fan on the forum. Although judging by the quality of your posts so far, you're probably an alt of one of them.

This fight has nothing to do with stevenson, because it's actually competitive. Go troll elsewhere.

Didn't realize you needed to be notified. I only replied because i see a lot of posts saying the winner should get a title fight. The reality is if Smith wanted one he could have faced Stevenson instead of Fonfara, and if Barrera wanted one he could have accepted the Beterbiev fight for IBF no1 contender spot.

well, you can say he should accept the fight with beterbiev but, the fact of the matter is when you lowball someone, chances are you don't want that fight. So you see it could be the other way around...
