He said he's fought his way to where he is to get his shot and he doesn't give a **** about Crawford's or Indongo's legacy, he's trying to build his own. What's wrong with that? It's not his job to make sure Crawford or Indongo's secures their legacy. His job is to fight and so far he's done his job. I want to see all the belts on the line too but I totally understand where Lipinets is coming fromHe has gloated in a recent interview tht he is stopping a unification... like why not fight the winner for all the belts. If he thinks getting Indongo stripped and having a vacancy battle will get him any fans or support he is wrong. Also the duplicity of the ibf in regards to joshua and indongo is a bad look.Comment

Naw he worked his way up no different than what Spence Jr did at 147 for the IBF Belt! Don't blame Lipinets blame the IBF!
If anything what the IBF should do is give Indongo that exception as well and maybe coming up with a Interim Title for Lipinets vs whoever is 2nd on the IBF Rankings behind him!Comment

Blame the IBF for what?
The IBF does not allow interim titles for anything less than a legitimately injured champion who is unable to fight. If anything what the IBF should do is give Indongo that exception as well and maybe coming up with a Interim Title for Lipinets vs whoever is 2nd on the IBF Rankings behind him!Comment

A little behind on this situation but can't blame lipnitis for demanding what he's earned. I wish more organizations stuck to their rules
Indongo should fight Lipnitis first and if he wins ( which he probably won't ) face Crawford but everyone involved with Indongo /Crawford know that Lipnitis probably will put a stop to that fight from every happening and Crawfords team would rather be fight Indongo for a strap then LipnitisComment

You're dead on with everything.A little behind on this situation but can't blame lipnitis for demanding what he's earned. I wish more organizations stuck to their rules

Lipinets became the mandatory last year. Indongo was allowed to unify before making his mandatory as IBF rules allow unification to take precedence over mandatory.
But once the unification took place, the mandatory had to be next. In theory, Indongo could ask for another unification, but Crawford had the other belts and Crawford already had a different fight scheduled.
So how can Indongo ask for an exemption to unify with Crawford when Crawford is unavailable? He can't.
However, Hearn controls Indongo's next fight (Indongo had to give Hearn an option to get the unification) and Hearn and Haymon work well together (Lipinets is with Haymon), which is why Haymon did not demand an immediate purse bid, which would have resulted in Indongo being stripped already.
The IBF does not allow step asides, but by not demanding an immediate bid, it allows time for an exemption request. I have no idea how this will play out. IBF doesn't allow step aside fees, but there are still ways to massage things since Hearn & Haymon typically help each other.Comment

So he wants to build his legacy by fighting for vacant titles and you're okay with that?He said he's fought his way to where he is to get his shot and he doesn't give a **** about Crawford's or Indongo's legacy, he's trying to build his own. He wants to build his legacy by fighting his mandatory. He wants his shot at the belt. If he doesn't get his shot he's not going to let them fight for his spot. I can't blame him for wanting what he's earned.Comment
