Pretty much what I was thinking. No one wants unification more than me. I love the idea and hope we get as much as possible, but this is boxing. It's a hard a$$ sport where guys have to fight tooth and nail to get a title shot even at an ABC title. He will definitely take advantage and any other fighter would as well.
The IBF and Sergey Lipinets=jackasses

Because Joshua was able to file an exemption for a specific available fight and Indongo wasn't. Indongo can't file an exemption for a unification when the champion he wants to unify with already had a different fight scheduled. The IBF likes to keep things moving.
You lose all of your credibility right there. The Ring title has absolutely nothing to do with the lineal title. Ring is owned by Golden Boy and makes up the rules as they go along, rules that directly violate every tenet of the lineal title. How is it that an American based sanctioning body is trying to strip Indongo thus preventing unification of all six belts (IBF, WBO, WBC, WBA, IBO, and Ring(lineal) at 140 between Crawford and Indongo.
Indongo could have gone and fought his mandatory while Crawford fought Diaz and then they could have unified. Instead, Indongo wanted to delay his mandatory even though Crawford wasn't even available.
That was Indongo's problem. He couldn't file an exemption as quickly as Joshua could because Indongo's desired opponent already had a different fight scheduled.Comment

if this is true, thats fking out of order, the guy will catch an injury talking that sht. For far far too long we've needed movement toward 1 champ per divisionHe has gloated in a recent interview tht he is stopping a unification... like why not fight the winner for all the belts. If he thinks getting Indongo stripped and having a vacancy battle will get him any fans or support he is wrong. Also the duplicity of the ibf in regards to joshua and indongo is a bad look.Comment

There is every reason to bash him. If he was serious about becoming champ he would want to fight the winner of Crawford - Indongo for all the belts, not try to get his hands on a paper title.I'm guessing you have no clue who Lipinets is. Otherwise, you wouldn't write that^ idiocy. The guy is putting in work and has every right to go after his title shot. He shouldn't let himself get passed over because the fans want unification. If you would rather see Crawford/Indongo, fair enough. But, there's simply no reason to bash Sergey over this.Comment

It seems like being a paper champ is only bad if you're a black guy. If you're eastern european, yeah you're the man!
Remember when people bashed Prince Charles for fighting for the IBF after Fury got stripped. Remember when they then bashed Joshua for taking it from Prince Charles.
But if Lipinets does it, man this guy is smart. He deserves no criticism, he's making a smart move. This totally aint bad for boxing anymore.Comment
