One thing most poeple observed was when Klitschko vs Fury 2 was not going to happen, Wilder was not expressing interest in Vladimir's availability. Why? Nobody knows.
If we are being honest here, Anthony Joshua MADE Deontay Wilder relevant

It's funny how ignorant some of you "boxing fans" are sometimes. Charlie was hit when he was down. Was already an immediate DQ and Charlie won the fight. After that Charlie hit Wilder with a 47 punch combination which wasn't caught on camera because the cameraman didn't want to show such a savage beating. Wilder died in the hospital the next day.Comment

Right now he's not really a big name in the States tho...he has 'opponent fame' in the UK - when you have an attraction like Anthony Joshua, the fame of his potential opponents rises exponentially because people have to talk about Anthony Joshua fighting somebody, there has to be a point to that conversation, they have to look forward to something. Wilder is a conversation piece to the talk of town. That's what it really is, out in the UK.
Otherwise, Wilder's gotten a fair push in the States. He hasn't caught on but his fame has grown in some respect. The truth of the matter is, right now the draws are middleweights, welters - the focus is elsewhere. They'll mutually benefit, however, from facing one another.Comment

Maybe because in the summer of 2016 Tyson Fury 'injured' his ankle pulling out of his fight with Wladimir and around a month later Deontay broke his hand and ripped his bicep? did I forget to mention the WBC had given Pedvetkin a pass for his failed meldonium test so he was still in sight.Comment

These guys that say these Heavyweights are chinny doesn't make sense. They are heavyweights.
Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, etc....have all been knocked out.
It's very rare you get a Heavyweight like David Tua that never has been knocked out.
Wilder has been knocked out in the amateurs, knocked down and hurt by Harold Sconiers even though he only has a 23% knockout percentage. Hurt by Molina, decked in sparring by David Haye and I've been heard of the Klitschko dropping him in sparring numerous times rumor way before Nelson mentioned it. Joshua also has been knocked out in the amateurs, hurt by Whyte, dropped and hurt by Klitschko. Hurt and dropped in sparring.
Both guys have been dropped and hurt. No ****, this is the Heavyweight division, not 126, 147 or 160.
