Nope. Thurman is no. 1 at the moment.

I kind of knew Spence was going to win against Brook, too many variables for Kell to win that fight imho. Skill wise, Spence has surpassed Thurman imho. He would beat Porter, Garcia, and Thurman if they ever fight.
Thurman isn't good on the inside, and his fight with Porter only further proved what I already knew about him. He also imo has a soft body, regardless of how he looks physically. Spence beats the brakes off Thurman. I actually think he'd have a harder time against Porter than either Garcia or Thurman.

Brook of a couple of years ago would gone 12 without visibly slowing and dropping his guard as he did.
Maybe I was just too high on Spence before...not sure....I still think he's going to make it to No. 1 as he will improve after the brook fight. But he needs to beat Thurman.
Ps. He also made the weight excuse then.

Spence gets credit for beating Brook but he can't proclaim himself #1 welter until he beats Thurman. Same applies to Thurman. He can no longer be top dog unless he beats Spence.
Pacquiao will not fight either guy so he's automatically excluded for consideration. And I doubt he'll fight Crawford.

I have him as the favorite against Thurman too.
If he cleans out 147, then he can move up to 154, if he looks great there, then he should look for a fight with Canelo. They're only 6 months apart in age.
We have to see how Spence develops first.

I have no prediction. I'm rooting for Triple G, I would like to see him win, and by knockout.
But my assessment of the fight is I have no idea how it's going to turn out because a lot of different things can happen.
So my prediction is I have no prediction.

For everyone saying Thurman is the top dog at 147...I figured Pacquiao was still?
If Spence was a smart guy he'd ****ing beg for a Pac fight. Do everything possible, **** talk, cause a controversial stir..just move the mountains he's gotta move to seal the fight down on paper. He will never have a bigger name than Pac on his resume if he passes him up. We're going to wake up one day and look on at welterweight thinking how good we used to have it.
Bottom line, Spence is taking too many liberties. He should learn that lesson from Brook if anything. Brook wasted a bunch of time. I'm sure the management side of things are more ****ed than we realize but please dear god dont let him fall into the Danny Garcia groove

I don't know why One Time waited until right before Spence-Brook to have surgery, but it definitely appears to be yet another move to avoid Spence. Honestly, considering styles and skills, I can't see Thurman beating Spence. I could see situations where either Garcia or Porter could, but Thurman beats both of them in a rematch. Styles make fights.

That said, I don't think Keith is chomping at the bit to fight Spence. No one wants that kind of problem in their life.
