To be fair, I think Thurman is #1 based on his past two wins over Porter and Garcia and overall better resume of opposition but I do think Spence is definitely top 2 or 3.

Got him at number 4 after Thurman, Garcia, and Pac. All three have better resumes. Brook's lone significant win is Porter. Gimme one more good win, Spence, and you'll get Texas at #1 in the WW division!

In one fight Spence just beat the fighter better than anyone on Thurman's resume. Thurman was slowly build himself up to his position, Spence took on the challenges before he was ready and still prevailed. He is the man at 147. Nobody is beating him there. Crawford is the only fighter that might have a chance. Spence stopped Brook. Thurman couldn't even stop a JWW in Garcia. Spence is more talented and hungrier. One Time will continue avoiding this guy. Maybe Porter will step up to the challenge.

          yep

folks can rank him wherever they like

but if they do not rank him number 1, and he beats Thurman, then they were wrong

Spence's body shots, and ring command I think means he'd beat Keith up pretty badly. I dunno perhaps Keith could stay on the outside and outbox him, and land power shots from the outside and stun him, to keep him off. But, seems unlikely.

Spence's footwork when he is attacking, reminds me of Tito. The way he just stays on you.
I'm not sure why that's unlikely. Thurman has the hand speed and power to hurt Spence.

Also, I think people are looking too much into the whole "body shots" thing for Thurman. It's kind of like how people thought Thurman had a weak chin. Body shots are hard for ANYBODY to take and in the Collazo fight, Thurman took two of them and was still standing. Since then, nobody has been able to hurt Thurman that same way. Porter (who is obviously a harder hitter than Collazo) caught him good just once and Thurman only backed away but recovered fast. Danny Garcia's bodyshots did nothing compared to them.

Spence is going to go for body shots and I don't think Thurman's footwork is going to give him many opportunities to do that. Plus, no doubt, Spence will feel Thurman's power and likely wouldn't want to risk feeling too many of it throughout the fight.

              Manny Must Go!!!!

I can see people saying Thurman but anyone mentioning Pacman must have an agenda. Pacman won't go anywhere near Spence or Thurman As for Thurman...suspect body vs body snatcher....u do the math!

Manny needs to vacate and take a long vacation out of 147!

Most who have posted on this thread agree with me. Thurman is as tough as Brook. And you should know that. And unlike Brook, Thurman doesn't have a history of eye issues. Then there's Danny, Porter, Manny, Bradley... Stacked division. No guarantees your lover lands on top.

                LOL

So much hate for Spence...Typcial mestizo angst.

If he were a White American you'd be his biggest fan.

Brook didn't have a history of being weak to the belly like Thurman.

Bradley isn't even a real WW and hasn't done squat at 147.

Garcia....he won't do well against Spence.

Spence will likely be on top of the division when the smoke clears

He somewhat has accepted though, even though I must admit he didnt seem excited by it. But its far from clear favorite. Thurman has demonstrated his ability to grind a UD even more so then Spence, on the flip side spence has shown more killer instinct of course.
