Junior welterweight contender Sergey Lipinets will not get a mandatory crack at champion Julius Indongo, according to the Russian boxer's manager Alex Vaysfeld. Lipinets is the mandatory challenger under the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the sanctioning body has ordered Indongo to meet his mandatory obligation.

As well he should, Indongo should be chasing glory and money. Looking forward to Crawford vs Indongo as I'm glad Indongo is getting the good paydays he's earned.

Good fight to unify Crawford has a bit too much class for this guy.

The **** is wrong with the ibf? Feels like they're doing everything they can to prevent an undisputed champion from being crowned in the division.

IBF has been one of the most annoying bodies when it comes to unifying. WBA/WBC have been generally corrupt throughout the years but when it comes to champions fighting each other to unify they let that happen instead of threatening to strip a champion.

Lipinets isn't even anything special. Indongo will beat him and Bud will destroy him. Its cool though Bud will go take him out after he takes out Indongo

The IBF always goes by their rulebook. Which is good since fighters always know where they stand with them, there are no surprises.

But they seriously need to add in a rule that allows unification fights to take precedence over mandatories. For the good of the sport.

Just that one small change and they can keep everything else the same.

It's funny. The one sanctioning body that actually has guidelines in their charter that state unifications trump mandatories is going to strip one of their champions for pursuing a unification over a mandatory.

Shameful. But it's boxing. What do you expect? Honesty and integrity?
