Let's be honest. Floyd vs Pac was a lot closer than people made out

  • One more. Maybe I'm not being fair. I should not judge the guy for being racist, but I should judge him for his work. Ok. From just one specific video:

AND SPOON KNOWS THEY DIDN'T LAND! He admit one...but after I asked him how the hell the guy got a punch wrong with the luxury of slow motion and rewind, he refused to answer any more questions about punches. LMAO!

So should Pac have it public that any bluffing demands regarding anti-doping procedures outside of NSAC rules that he was game? Pac and TR literally made the bigger narrative regarding drug testing vs the money...

and most heads who back Pac say it was best for Pac to wait...

      I mean which is it?

      • The rounds were close. Floyd barely did anything. It's what he does so I don't blame him. The more Manny turned up the pressure the more he would have been countered, but man that was such a disappointing performance by him.

I saw it as 9-3 Floyd. Maybe 8-4 if being generous. Same as the Cotto fight only Cotto made Floyd work so much harder. Look at Manny's effort compared to guys like Oscar, Maidana, and Cotto. It's not the same.

Me personally, I scored the fight 7-5 Floyd
This is the way I looked at it. Floyd took more rounds on my card though.

It was not an impressive performance from either guy.

If anything the most impressive thing was Pac's ability to counter Floyd in a way we rarely have seen before. Still his effort in close quarters was lacking. He let Floyd hold him and get away from the corner almost every time. He also looked afraid to get countered.

          • 11-1 Floyd.

easiest fight in Floyd's career. you call it "love taps" but trust me Pacquiao would disagree. those love taps were enough to keep Manny on the outside fighting scared. every time he tried to trap Floyd on the ropes he'll eat a check left hook and allow Floyd to spin back into center ring. thats called ring generalship and it happened all night.

That fantasy bullcrap you posted hasn't made made mainstream media for a good reason: it's utter nonsense.

Obviously, it is fabricated and conjured out of thin air by someone incredibly butthurt about the fight.

Fortunately, the complete, unedited, unaltered, and unadulterated fight is available for all to see.

And when you watch THAT, the fight isn't at all hard to score.

I went back and counted a few rounds myself a long time ago because so many Pac fans were complaining about the compubox. But, I found it to be very accurate counting myself, as would any honest person watching the rounds. Yes, Compubox does sometimes seem to be off in certain fights, but for most fight (and particularly this one) they are extremely competent.

Folks complain about Floyd running, but again, all they have to do is turn on the fight to see that Floyd was spending the vast majority of his time RIGHT IN FRONT OF PAC and also came forward MULTIPLE TIMES.

Lastly, I also counted the number of clinches. There were 25 of them the whole fight, a little more than a 2 per round average. That is actually LOW when compared to other huge fights in the past 3 years. And BTW, Floyd did not initiate all of those few holds either.

You can post all sorts of tinfoil hat theories that you like.
You can have anyone you like give their opinion.

None of it will change the fact that Pac lost, and lost very convincingly.

Freddie Roach concedes that Pac lost and he was there.

Pac doesn't concede it yet wants a rematch badly...but if you know you won, why do you need to do it again? Man knows he got schooled, and probably knows he will get schooled again.

              But dat money doe...

My guess is that Floyd knows he would school him again too, but doesn't want another excuse about shoulders (which half the boxers out there today could have surgery on tomorrow) or itchy socks.

This thread is a joke. And a sad one at that.

So, do you think the person who made that video killed themselves yet?

Arguably the most "memorable" moment of the fight was when Pacquiao stunned Floyd and then unleashed a barrage of mostly missed or blocked punches.
As a lifelong Floyd fan I blame him equally. I think the pressure got to him. It's the first time I've ever seen him fight not to lose instead of fighting to win. He's defense first but shhhhiiiitttttttttttt this was something else. It was a win for his legacy but a disappointment all around.
