it's quite possible they could all be idiots..........none of us actually know.........so just because a lot of folks and a few boxers believe something that makes it right?Comment

Yep, whats worse is that people are out here saying that Spence beat a completely healthy Brook... The first 6 rounds of that fight Brook was completely out boxing Spence, then the weight and the eye started coming in. We will never know how much that truly affected him. This is why boxing is so ****ed up. What if all those guys at 160 didn't duck GGG, then Brook never would have needed to go up to fill the date, and both divisions would be better off, with GGG fighting the best at 160, and Brook staying at 147. His career is kind of ****ed now not just because of the eye, but because he can't make 147 healthy and I'm not sure he's big enough for 154.Comment

You might be right. I guess it Brook-Khan would make more money, just because of the fans in the U.K. Such a fight would have had real implications for the WW division and possibly p4p rankings too for a while, but now the fight is only a rivalry fight for pride. Still, a great kind of fight to watch, but doesn't affect the big picture at all.Porter and Peterson are Thurman's mandatories, so none of those are options. Broner may be tied up with Mikey soon.
None of those other guys are selling out any arenas anywhere.....sans pacquiao, none of them makes khan anywhere near as much money as a brook fight.
He knows it, go read his comments. He also waited for Brook to get beat up. The fight happens now, because Khan sees brook as vulnerable, it's a fight he might actually win, he thinks. The split will be closer to 50-50, than 75-25.
It really is all up to Khan.
For what its worth, here is what Porter supposedly said (link at the bottom)
“My number one fight on my mind is the rematch with Keith Thurman, but if that is not going to happen I would love to fight the winner of Kell Brook and Errol Spence,” said Porter to skysports.com.
If Thurman is out for six months, then starts training and fights Peterson a few months after that, is Porter going to just sit and wait? He could fight a tomato can, or he could fight for a world title against Spence. Of course, most fighters would wait out for Thurman, because they don't want in with Spence. But Porter has taken some tough fights, so I give him props for that. He is lacking in the talent department, but he has heart and is willing to fight the best and as a boxing fan, I have to respect that.Comment

Good post. It's the biggest money fight for both guys, and khan can't use the excuse that brook hasn't fought anybody anymore. You might be right. Khan is talking about returning in november, so he can take 1-2 fights, as Brook probably won't be back until January at the earliest, and he'll probably want a tuneup. I can see this fight being made this time next year.Comment

did you have your excuses ready BEFORE that fight ?
or are your excuses suddenly conveniently appropriate ?
we simply cannot have the record show that Golovkin cherry-picked a mid-level welter now, can we?
sorry, I got distracted..... what were your excuses to justify why Brook got folded like a deck-chair yesterday again?Comment
