    • Cong**** to Spence

The fight was meh, I was expecting a better, more exciting fight. It was sloppy, sluggish at times. The fight did have it's moments.

The anticlimatic ending ******. I can't believe Brook quit. He was too worried about his eye. I guess we will know the extent of the injury later.

But all in all, I enjoyed the Thurman-Garcia fight better.

Now hopefully we will get Spence vs Thurman at the latest by early or mid year next year.

But that's the thing tho. Brook had never taken the head off of a top fighter. All those KO's came against subpar comp. In my opinion Brook was slightly overrated from the beginning, being called one of the top welters after only winning one quality fight, and (in my opinion) even that win was not completely convincing. Now he has quit twice, and he cannot even use the weight as an excuse.

Before the fight Brook said that Spence had never faced a fighter on his level level, which may have been true. But it was also true that Brook never won against a fighter on Spence's level.

          Fair enough.

I'm a sore loser. But this is how it goes on this forum. Had Kell won, it would have been others saying it vice versa. I'm not the first to mention PEDs and I won't be the last. I'm certainly not the first to question Spence around this issue. I've literally had enough of being trolled that I gave some back for once. **** it. I was blowing off steam.

And no one respected Kell before this fight. The comments I read made me so angry, like he was some tomato can, a step for Errol to jump over before fighting 'real' fighters at 147.

Anyway, the better man won. Did he look like the second coming of Mayweather? No. He looked sloppy offensively, with a surprisingly poor defence, and at times lacked physical strength. Kell seemed far stronger for the early part of the fight. Errol needs to build up those legs.

Spence though did show stamina, and a very good chin, and that's what won him the fight.

He was relentless and never buckled when hit clean. I do think the weight affected Kell, but I would have Spence winning the decision prior to Kell's middleweight fight and the weight loss.

Kell is done at 147, he looked out on his feet from round 7.

Spence lookedlike he didn't quite know how to manage Brook over the first 6, all 6 rounds were sloppy as hell and could have been scored either way imo, although Brook seemed to be the one controlling the fight more and Spence not seeming to know how to handle the tying up etc.

Then Brook visibly slowed in the 7th and his defence went awol, from then it was open target practice for Spence and Brook never really got a second wind, so just a case of Spence teeing off with clean shots.

What heart from Brook though...he had nothing left after the 8th but kept going even though Spence could smell blood and was landing more and more clean shots.

Overall, completely predictable that the weight beat Brook more than Spence did, and to be honest, a little disappointed in Spence- he didn't look as good as I thought he was. He couldn't work out Brook's throwing and falling in during the early rounds and how to get his feet right for clean counters.

I nagged on and on pre-fight that Brook was done at 147, and this proves it - if he can only go 6 rounds at the weight he's not going to beat anyone (except Khan). Good win for Spence, but he's got a lot to prove still after that performance.
So you dont give spence full credit we see!!

            • Looks Bad for UK boxing. Linares owns them at 135, Tank at 130, Indongo at 140, and now Spence at 147, but they still have some home made champions left.

              • I was pulling for Brook but full credit to Spence, he fought well, showed a lot of to suggest he could be the best welterweight in the world and wanted it more on the night.

Brook was landing that right hand crazy, got worried for a moment. But his chin sustained. The Truth.

I would say perhaps with Black culture and communities that's true. From my perspective, which is shallow I'll admit, it seems to be a far bigger deal in the US. Of course we have black culture and black communities, but then again we have various different regional cultures and local communities. Diversity should be celebrated.

To be honest, we've been through so much s*** lately with Brexit, immigration, the recent terror attacks, that Britain had become scarily racist in the last 12 months, and those who preach hate have chosen to target (and can almost do so openly) migrant workers, ethnic **********, different religions, etc.

                    These are worrying times.

That's ok. We'll settle for AJ. Send Wilder when he learns how to box.
