Is Mike Tyson one of the most overrated fighters ever?

Most list i seen have tyson outside the top 10 of heavyweights. somewhere in top 15. that is pretty decent. high potential but burned out quickly. did clean out the division at a young age. He is rated fairly on most boxing lists i seen. By casuals or some random "sports fan" you meet that dont know **** about boxing sure, because tyson is one of the most famous boxers of all time.

His resume isn't even top 20 ATG. He was overrated bum killer brawl merchant. Tokyo Douglas made him Sleeping Beauty.

eh flip side is that there are a lot of bert sugar wanna be's who blow rainbows up anyone's ass who fought on black and white broadcast TV. Most of those guys resumes are padded with guys who had day jobs in the factory. By the 1980s atleast the guys tyson was fighting up to and after his belts were actual full time boxers.


go ahead and look at the list of marciano's first 40 fights and tell me its such a big deal he went 49-0 when only the last 7-9 fights were against full time boxers. he was knocking out delivery drivers, construction workers, plumbers ect
