she couldnt get him more money because beterbiev took it all in a 75-25 split. the split for smith-barrera will be much more even giving barrera more money. if beterbiev wasnt so greedy and didnt think he was some popular a-side when hes a nobody he would get more fights. ggg had trouble getting opponents and paid them 40-45 percent just to get in the ring like he did with jacobs. giving barrera 25 percent of an already low purse(pbc has no money) makes no sense. just go to hbo. they have more money and fairer purses.

It was not to insinuate he was ducking or not ducking, it was to know what the pay difference was to see if he made a choice he would, or wouldnt regret when he declined the elimination bout. It's public perception vs his management decision. We are not living his life, walking in his shoes, guiding his career. So overall Barrera made a better choice, even if it means he still ultimately ducked Beterbiev, but that he happened to have good luck with this new fight because as you mentioned, the money difference may not be huge, but the Smith fight at least appears to be the easier fight.
