Promoters that have the most success are the ones with the smartest matchmakers. I dont know who MP's matchmakers are but if they are telling Floyd not to match Davis with Loma now and he is listening to them then good for him.

Floyd doesn't always listen to people. He may have something special in Davis and you need to build him properly the next 2-3 years. Listen to those who know more than you and guide his career properly.

I've got an idea-let Loma be inactive for a year and match him against Davis who has fought 3 times during that year.

At the end of the day where does Tank go? This guy really not big enough for even 135. Well not tall enough I should say, and then looks like he won't be able to make 130 much longer.

Good lil fighter. Got skills, but due to his small frame and size I don't really see him being the "future" of boxing Tank has to be like 5'4-5'5 1/2 once he starts stepping in with the taller bigger fighters gonna be in tough....

It's kinda like Judah/Broner too small for 147 but yet can't really make 140 and be 100%. Same for Spence and Brook really big for 147 but not big enough for 154 full time...

At the end of the day there are 3-5 good big fights for Tank with opponents around his size Loma, Garcia, Russell, Mares, Santa Cruz BTW all of which are in their late 20's....

“Let me answer that question,” Mayweather said. “I said this before – there’s no rush. And as you guys see, Lomachenko has to rush. He’s 30 years old. I don’t know how old he is [29]. He has to rush. This kid is still young. There’s no rush. We’re gonna take our time. But one thing I wanna say is that we’re not ducking or dodging any opponent."

Of course... what more to be said?...

Cool but it's whats hindering boxing today. People what to see the best fight the best now. Champ vs Champ and unification fights not build up current Champions and baby them. Truth be told that era is over you got guys like Loma becoming Champ in 9 fights and Spence getting a shot shortly after turning pro.

Like what's being said. If you want to build a fighter today, thats fine. But don't get a title and then want to take things slow. By the time a fighter wins a title he should be ready for anyone in the world that's why it is called a "World Title" So don't turn around and go oh we don't need to rush because he's only a 22 year old World Champion.

you think davis/floyd wold fight loma even if he had a year of inactivity? floyd knows who is the real deal and who is not. he spent his career not fighting the good fighters until they were over the hill. a year of inactivity is not safe enough for his little minion. maybe 5 years and we are talking

This kid still young is an excuse imo he's a Champion. 22-23 is young but I mean come on A lot of us OG's can remember being 22-23 next thing you know you look up and you're like 25-26 It seems like yesterday Broner was 23 now he's almost 28 close to 30.. these guys need to get the good fights in while they are young like Hagler Lenard and Hearns did. People forget how young those guys were when they were fighting each other. You didn't hear anything about 22-23 being too young or no rush back then. That's some new school shyt...

some do...others are just fans of particular fighters. thatas why you have people defending this ducking. he's too young! ok well go back to the minor leagues then. if you are scared then this isnt the sport for you but unfortunately some guys have built in fan bases and take advantage of them brutally. if they support you no matter what then why risk a loss? the only thing the fans want is to see them winning more than seeing who is the best
