This is the difficult thing about having a phenomenal talent and associated hype.

Nobody is going to be too interested for very long if he blows away fighters of Walsh's level.

And I say that as someone who though Walsh was pretty decent but as you kids say 'levels....'.

So when you show 'levels' you are obligated to compete at a different level but then boxing at its best and healthiest financially rewards fighters who take the biggest fights and the two go hand-in-hand. Though boxing of 2016 showed us a different look. You could be Gary Russell Jr and fight Patrick Hyland for a million dollars.

It's a difficult one because I can understand both sides - tank is a young man and could possibly have another decade or so in the game but no fan of any sport is going to watch talented athletes tread water unless you literally have a vested interested in that happening. If Davis didn't have the title no one would even be thinking bout him vs Loma. It really helping build Davis career the more they talk about him vs Loma so it's not like its a bad thing..

I'm not one to think Loma is unbeatable, we've seen him beat before. So I'm not looking for other Champs to be ducking him either when he's already lost. Tank is a young fighter. There is a proper way to build young fighters. Part of that is understanding clearly what you have. Floyd is smart enough to see (maybe his matchmakers ) that Davis isn't ready to fight Loma now.

That's why I brought up Valdez and Top rank. You can have a champion but still feel he is in the development stage. I don't see any posters criticizing the way he is being built, so I can't understand (from a boxing perspective) why there would be criticism here?
