I'm from Central America/Caribbean and the people there are not considered "Americans". Even though North/Central/South are literally in the Americas, you don't actually call everyone Americans. Canelo is from North America geographically and while it's literally true that he's "American" as in being from the Americas, this is the 21st century where it is accepted that the term American/America is the United States. Canelo is Mexican.

Yea I was thinking Algieri too. Idk the legitness of his abc title belt doe so maybe not.

Either way Algieri is one of the few top ten-ish white Americans around these days. White americans going into the MMA world & doing grappling & sh^t they aren't just punching each other in the head when they compete in combat sports.
