Fight didn't live up to the hype. Jr wasn't himself. No displays of exaggerated toughness and invulnerability . He just circled the ring while eating punches.

Rick Glaser, for people who don't seem to know is a much more trusted source as to how well a ppv did. He is also cutting the ppv numbers of both Canelo and Golovkin, and it's pretty common to see this:

Glaser says your guy only did X ppv, your guy sucks!
Well Glaser also said your guy only did x ppv, YOUR guy sucks!

It's moronic, and it happens every thread.

Why so called boxing fans care more about ppv # (money they aren't going to profit from) than the fact that the last Canelo fight WAS TOTAL GARBAGE is baffling to me. Justin Beiber made more than Canelo last year, go be a Beiber fan if all you care about is earning potential.

If not for announcing the Golovkin fight, the entire night was a waste of $70.
Is there any reason Glaser knows anything more than anyone else? I mean I'm not hating, just really trying to figure out why his numbers are superior to anyone else. Is he some type of uncorruptable monk or something?

For what it's worth, Dan Rafael is reporting multiple industry sources are telling him it will settle at around 1.2mm when it's all said and done. Huge numbers..

this is probably why Golovkin accepted Canelo's offer, before the Chavez PPV numbers were released

            exactly

and his figures for GGG/Lemieux were 97k

I used to feel sorry for Hispanic fans because De la Hoya would exploit them like a white guy. But now I don't. If Hispanic fans are willing to continuously give up their hard earned money for bs fights just because Canelo is Mexican, then more power to De la Hoya and Canelo. No one is forcing his fans to buy terrible fights. They deserve the terrible fights they keep buying since it comes from such a bias place. After GGG, if Canelo can keep exploiting his fans so easily, the so be it..I'm not mad at him.

You literally come on here hoping to start an argument about GGG. One wonders, how you haters got through the day when GGG wasn't around.

Mayweather, ODLH and Pac all did post fight interviews in english though. It remains to be seen if Canelo has the intellect to learn english well enough to break into the mainstream. Its not like he has to be that good at it. He can just throw out some rag tag stuff like Pacman does. Hell he couldn't possibly string together a poorer sentence of english than Grolovkin. He needs to make the next step to really crossover now.
