He made about 13m just to fight Khan last year and that didn't even generate half as much money as this fight. He was guaranteed over 20m to fight Chavez. Chavez made 6m and I believe he mocked Chavez by saying he was making 4X what Chavez was getting paid. Canelo owns a piece of the promotion so he literally gets a cut of everything and has his own Mexican TV deal. He likely made more then 8m just to fight Smith and made far more then that against Chavez.
