Found it myself, Canelo Cotto did 650, so the same as Glaser is saying Canelo Chavez did.

I guess we can assume that is the ceiling on Canelo with his current fanbase. Hopefully Golovkin Canelo is rightfully hyped for the amazing fight it is, and they both come out bigger stars with wider appeal.

Rick Glaser, for people who don't seem to know is a much more trusted source as to how well a ppv did. He is also cutting the ppv numbers of both Canelo and Golovkin, and it's pretty common to see this:

Glaser says your guy only did X ppv, your guy sucks!
Well Glaser also said your guy only did x ppv, YOUR guy sucks!

It's moronic, and it happens every thread.

Why so called boxing fans care more about ppv # (money they aren't going to profit from) than the fact that the last Canelo fight WAS TOTAL GARBAGE is baffling to me. Justin Beiber made more than Canelo last year, go be a Beiber fan if all you care about is earning potential.

If not for announcing the Golovkin fight, the entire night was a waste of $70.
People will use glaser numbers only if it suits their agenda, the way i see it you either use his numbers or the promoters, but you do the same for all fighters.. still for those who want to use glasers numbers 700k is really good considering the actual boxing landscape... his numbers for canelo-cotto were 600k if i recall correctly...

AJ just drew 1.5 million PPV the week before that fight.

UK PPV's aren't given the same distinction, given that they are only £15-20.

Agree that Canelo has the PPV king mantle of Floyd. But this could be short lived if he loses to GGG. Dela Hoya , do not toot your horn yet.

I know that but article is talking about star power.. Not how much they make. Apparently both guys had over a million people tuned in watching them but this article says Canelo is the first guys since the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao to be able to gather a big audience like that.. Maybe they're taking about just in the US.

These ppv's have been a black eye for boxing. The whole idea is to get more casual fans into the sport, then they see a fully hyped event turn into a stinker.

Boxing continues to take a beating in the eyes of the general public even though there have been many good fights lately, none of the casual fans ever see those.

Why are people even bringing up UK ppvs? They cheap as phuk Joshua doing 1.5m ppv buys at 20 bucks is NOTHING compared to the money canelo just generated off 1m buys at 70 bucks each sold.

                      1.5m X 20 = 30m
                      1m X 70 = 70m
