Not necessarily. I think He was just looking to get the $$ he was due per the contract he signed with rocnation. Either way, I agree that he should fight a relevant opponent..i wouldn't mind JMM

You do know he could had been paid the rest of the money in later fights where Roc has a better chance of making some money back, right? How much freaking money could he possibly want vs Kame-fkin-gai?

I have a feeling that the contract is a little more complicated than what was shared with the public through the press.

I'd watch Cotto fight a phone book...but, despite his devoted fan base, it's hard to deny that he has made himself irrelevant through inactivity and mismanagement. I think he did a brilliant job prolonging his career after suffering losses that would have destroyed a lesser fighter, but he hasn't stopped *****ting the bed since the Canelo fight. Very disappointing to a longtime fan.

He's gonna have to up his competition & probably get beat or accept lesser checks I think. Idk if he's willing to do either or if the bigger names necessarily give a f#ck about fighting him right now.

I guess GGG vs Cotto would be a sellable fight regardless if GGG wins or loses in September. And obviously a Canelo rematch is viable win or lose in September too. Beyond those two fights idk what pays enough for the risk for Cotto.

I feel like his rumored comeback will continue to be rumored for awhile (kinda like the JMM rumored comeback) & no August fight will happen cuz the money just won't make sense for all parties.

Yup, I've been a Cotto fan since pretty much the beginning when he fought Justin Juuko back in 2002. But he's been really screwing his career over with the mismanagement, inactivity, etc...

Really frustrating as a fan.
