Guess they wisened up and realized they can't throw around these huge guarantees and keep losing millions on each fight.

What does this mean for Cotto? He wanted to retire by EOY, now he has 6 months and doesn't have a promoter. This could be the end.

Retire already Cotto. You're a mess.

Waste of time since his Canelo fight. His career has been a joke lately. And I'm a big fan of Cotto but he should just hang them up. This is embarrassing already.

Cottos best shot is to remain a free agent for his last two fights...
He is getting a tune up with a gbp fighter and then a canelo rematch in december... canelo already said he wanted this fight in december...

The matchup itself would be fine, I wonder if Cotto's ego could handle the split that Canelo is going to want, especially if he beats GGG. Cotto has been MIA for 2 years, canelo deserves a big portion of the split.

What a sad way to end a career.

Embarrassing. If Cotto doesn't retire just fight one fight this year to say goodbye to his fans.

What a mess his career has been the last year and a half.

I'm kind of done with him at this point. Very disappointing and frustrating as a Cotto fan.

Canelo really wants this rematch and since cotto no longer has to split money with roc nation a 60-40 will be viable just out of respect for cottos legacy... 60 for canelo of course... it will still be big money for cottos retirement and he wont make anything close with anybody else...

Miguel Cotto and Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports have agreed to part ways, according to a report posted by ESPN.com on Thursday. The contract reportedly was supposed to pay Cotto a total of $50 million for three fights had he completed it. Cotto left Bob Arum's Top Rank Inc., his longtime promoter, to sign with Roc Nation Sports in March 2015, but has fought just twice for the company.

They got tired of the cry baby no one can blame them. This guy just needs to retire now cuz he thinks he is way more than he's worth. Glad no one is willing to pay him big money those days are gone especially for the fights he is chasing.
