Why would people think it wouldn't work? He doesn't have a net worth of $600 million by being ******. He's smart and makes good investments.
He knows how to make money

        Good post.
But Vanes would have an outside chance of eeking out a decision, Lee could well KHTFO if he aint getting dragged down to 155 or some *****, but Berto would be an easy win, except for he's with PBC and from what I recall, Haymon and Jay dont seem to see eye to eye.

Best fight for Cotto woulda been Andrade IMO, since he's not a heavy hitter, and has some defensive lapses when throwing in combo and can be rocked.

He's something of a free agent and holds a title, a fight, win or lose, and Cotto coulda walked away head held high.
If he lost to Kamegi, ffs, ppl would give him hell over it.

I think Andrade would be tougher than the 3 I mentioned.

Andy Lee can get dropped quite a bit. He got dropped by Chavez Jr (and stopped), he was stopped by Vera, dropped by Saunders, Quillin. Lee has shown some improvement though, in his fights vs Korobov, Quillin and Saunders he looked different than in his fights against JCC Jr and Vera. This is why it's a good fight, both are good draws in NY due to PR/Irish presence, and Lee is a good fighter but beatable.

                Can't say I'm surprised.
Although Cotto was the best of the big three they signed in the sport, I thought they overpaid by a lot.
I guess they heard what Mayweather was making and thought the Canelo fight would bring them close to that money. Little did they know.

Because he knows nothing about boxing? If i'm a millionaire in the construction field and i try to get into designing clothes and it doesnt work, does it matter if i made millions of bucks in construction? Stick to what you know best, boxing isnt Jay Z's thing

We don't know who cotto is fighting after leaving roc. They both left top rank for greener pastures. Pun intended.

I understand what your saying but every great businessman has to start somewhere... Look at Richard Schaffer. He was a banker before he became a promoter. He knew nothing about boxing. And he practically took Golden boy promotions and made them the number one promotion company when he was running it.
Jay Z took a gamble and it's not working out for him. But you can't blame him or hate on him for trying..
And I don't even like his music but I just tell it like it is...
