  • Comments Thread For: Miguel Cotto Reportedly Parts Ways With Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports

Miguel Cotto and Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports have agreed to part ways, according to a report posted by ESPN.com on Thursday. The contract reportedly was supposed to pay Cotto a total of $50 million for three fights had he completed it. Cotto left Bob Arum's Top Rank Inc., his longtime promoter, to sign with Roc Nation Sports in March 2015, but has fought just twice for the company.

Great comparison. Floyd went on to take boxing PPVs to record levels whereas Cotto has done nothing for a year and a half, is coming off a loss, and is past his expiration date.

no surprise here....RNS bit off more they can chew $$ wise and Cotto was not looking for the type of fights that would make RNS any money

I reckon RNS will let Ward walk after the Kovalev rematch as well. I see them getting out of boxing by 2018. Rappers make bad promoters.

im just saying they both wanted more money but yet one fan base blame the promoter while the same fan base is now blaming cotto for asking for too much money.

I have no issues with this, I respect Cotto but he wasn't into really fighting anyone. All of his opponents ****** for this year. Roc Nation probably got fed up and let him go and I don't blame them. Cotto should fight a bigger name than Kamegai or just retire. How about Andre Berto? Vanes Martirosyan? Andy Lee?
