  • WHY is manny fighting Horn?

I saw horn on a joe parker undercard and dude is terrible.

He went life and death with Ali Funeka who i was like "is that dude still fighting wtf"

Got rocked and dropped and was out on his feet for like 90 seconds.

Then after the fight he started talking and sounds like his balls havent dropped and he's like "im ready for manny"

    I laughed my ass off

and now Pac is fighting him?

    wtf

Because it'll sell like a wildfire in Australia, finally they have a boxing event. Arum is cashing out on Pacquiao, while Pac agrees to this strategy, because he needs wins to become president. To him it doesn't matter, being in high stock amoung hardcore boxing fans, why would it? It's a cashout. All in all, Pacquaio is irrelevant now. Had he

honestly Horn is not an elite fighter. He is domestic level and looks chinny

if Pac doesn't brutally ko him in 3 he needs to retire because Horn is terrible.

Manny beats horn easy. But if he doesn't beat horn by KO. Idgaf. I want to see him one last time against an a level fighter before hanging up the gloves completely.

... yes: something like this... but nothing related to boxing per se, anyway... well...

It's a joke, nobody can deny it, not even die hard Manny Stans like myself -- that said from a business standpoint, it makes sense.

Pacquiao's what, 39? Y'all do know that's old as f**k in a sport like boxing, right? Or ****, any sport for that matter.

Look I hate the fight, I wish he was fighting an elite opponent, but it is what it is. Like Floyd and a host of other fighters have said in the past...this is a business. It's called prize fighting for a reason. If you can fight a softer touch for roughly the same money, and ESPECIALLY on the doorstep of 40 years old -- then why not.

And just to be clear, for those who are gonna rip me for defending the fight, please duly make note of the part of this post where I said that I hate this fight. Thank you.

I hate this fight too, but all those guys made some good points.

Because Top Rank got that EZ-Pass with the WBO for how many years?

Bradley and Vargas are still ranked Top 3, but ain't nobody want to see that. It'd make more sense for Vargas 2 over Horn. But Horn is #2, and they're trying their luck in Aussie land. It's only because he's #2 in the WBO that ironically (I guess) be as awkward as any other Top 10 in the WBO..

Of course Arum likes to stage in house fighters. Horn is an exception...

no PBC... it's quite simple, Arum doesn'T want to share the revenue off Pac's name with any other competitor...you have better control of profits when you have house fighters mixing it up.
