I'm just going to have to sig my explaination because people seem to like to just cherry pick the facts that fit whatever bull**** agenda they have.

True, GGG was elevated by the WBA and WBC. But what people keep forgetting to recognise is that by beating Lemieux he earned his WBA super status by unifying. That was suppose to be the whole point of having a Super champion. Was just a way of recognizing that someone was a unified champ. As for the WBC, he is fixing to fight Canelo who was the WBC champ and is the current lineal champ. When he is done beating the brakes off Canelo, he will have earned everything he has, in the ring. So wtf is the problem?

That's true. And the WBA broke their own rules by elevating Sturm to super champ status when Golovkin was his mando, and then making GGG fight somebody else for a regular title, because Sturm wasn't a unified champ.

You would think that genuine boxing fans would sympathise with GGG over that blatent example of corruption by a sanction organisation, instead of using it to try and discredit him.

... because the champions would rather be stripped than fight him. They conceded their titles to him. It's not like they got stripped for inactivity and the belt went to the #6 guy or something.

But then he unified with Lemieux. So wtf is the problem? Fighters have no control over what the sanctioning bodies do. The fact the WBA seems to have a multiple personality disorder should'nt be laid at the feet of the fighter.
