Wilder...Wilder...see, Joshua has to work you over for a couple rounds. Wilder is actually not a very busy fighter as far as power punches. Hes more safety conscious. But he can knock his opponent out with ONE punch !

I'm still yet to see any evidence so far of Deontay Wilder being the most powerful puncher at heavyweight or a more powerful puncher than other 'power punchers' at heavyweight. What has Deontay Wilder done so far in his professional career which suggests he is a more powerful puncher than the likes of Anthony Joshua, Alexander Povetkin and even David Haye? Who has Deontay Wilder knocked out that is more impressive than the knockouts produced by the aforementioned boxers?

If we're going to make a comparison that is as valid and sound as possible, we're going to have to compare their knockout performances against common opposition and similar caliber of opposition in order to be fair and objective.

Here are some evidence for why Anthony Joshua ARGUABLY is a more powerful puncher than Deontay Wilder:

1) Anthony Joshua stopped Eric Molina in 3 rounds. It took Deontay Wilder 6 extra rounds to stop Eric Molina, when he stopped him in the 9th round.

2) Anthony Joshua knocked Dillian Whyte out cleanly, a similar or even arguably a better caliber of opponent than Bermane Stiverne, which Deontay Wilder couldn't knock out. Consider that Dillian Whyte was previously never knocked out before and was unbeaten until Anthony Joshua knocked him out. On the other hand, Bermane Stiverne was previously knocked out and beaten before fighting Deontay Wilder. Yet, Wilder still failed to KO Bermane Stiverne.

Here are some evidence for why Alexander Povetkin ARGUABLY is a more powerful puncher than Deontay Wilder:

1) Alexander Povetkin scored a concussive clean knockout in 6 rounds over Johan Duhapas. The same boxer, Deontay Wilder failed to score a canvas KO over and had to rely on a referee stoppage from accumulation and from Duhapas getting tired than due to his raw punching power.

2) Alexander Povetkin scored a 1st round KO over Mike Perez, a boxer who previously was never knocked out before prior to fighting Alexander Povetkin. Deontay Wilder took 8 extra rounds to KO a similar caliber of opponent in Artur Szpilka when he knocked him out in the 9th round. Both Mike Perez and Artur Szpilka are similar caliber of opponents, but Povetkin knocked his opponent out in 1 round whilst Wilder needed 9 rounds to do the same.

The same also applies to David Haye as well. His knockout victory over Dereck Chisora is more impressive than any of Deontay Wilder's knockout wins.

If we start comparing Deontay Wilder's knockout performances against common or similar caliber of opposition to other power punchers, then Deontay Wilder's power seems far less impressive comparatively.

Compare both of their KO performances against common opposition and similar caliber of opposition, you'll find Anthony Joshua, along with other heavyweight power punchers like Alexander Povetkin have a more impressive KO record than Deontay Wilder.

Comparing their knockout power using vastly different caliber of opposition doesn't really allow us to gauge their power objectively.

I agree with this comment. Here is a clip from Wilder vs. Harrison : notice how obviously terrified referee Terry O'Connor is as he witnesses this onslaught refusing to put himself at risk of these haymakers ( no not David Gay) and thereby temporarily abandoning his post ; Audley was getting beat to a pulp as O'Connor was way over in the next corner when he should of been stopping Deontay from inflicting any more life threatening damage... also its important to recognize that this was in the UK were early stoppages are common but this time they felt something they never experience before at HW -- the 'Bronze-Bomber'.

He abandoned his post because the force of the windmills was pushing him back.

C'mon man! This isn't even close; Deontay Wilder. The bomb squad has that one punch equalizing power, to the point where you'll never know what punch he is going to throw to finish the job.
